Jessica and I decided to “postpone” our Christmas this year in light of our mutual unemployment, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t found a few things to be thankful for this season. To be honest, I’ve always been a sucker for the ChristmaChanukaKwanIvus Season, as I tend to enjoy nearly all of the standard seasonal things to do (i.e., sitting around in a warm room and drinking hot drinks spiked with liquor).
So here’s a short, incomplete list of things I enjoy about the Holiday Season:
1. It’s the only time after college is over when it’s acceptable to use Christmas lights as the sole illumination in a room.
2. It becomes universally acceptable to add liquor to just about any drink “to warm yourself up.”
3. Snowstorm = Take the day off or work from home in your pajamas.
4. You can stay inside for three days in a row and not feel as if you’re “wasting a beautiful day.”
5. Throwing snowballs is fun. I don’t care how old you are.
Have any more to add? Send ‘em my way.
