Well, I’m pleased to say that the fundraiser seems to be gaining promotional steam. The past few days I’ve found myself going over details of the event with a number of Capital Region news outlets, and the response seems to be fairly positive. In this respect, I guess it’s fortunate that I’m still hunting for a full-time job, as I’ve been able to spend a lot of time each day working on one thing or another related to the event. Being on the other side of the media push is interesting, to say the least. Instead of fielding calls and e-mails from people asking for promotion, I’m the one cold-calling and mass-mailing the local media. “What goes around, comes around” and all that nonsense… Thankfully, most of the outlets I’ve contacted have been very understanding and willing to give the event some airtime or page space. So this is where you come in, readers from the Capital Region: If you happen to hear, read or otherwise end up as audience to a promotion of the Tim Gray Memorial Fundraiser on your local news, TV or newspaper page, please let me know.
