Kiel is a cool guy. I’ve shared a beer with the bunch on several occasions and he was always a straight shooter. I’m sure he’ll bounce back like a cat on speed, but the thing that really bothers me is that he is being replaced by someone who’s name I’ve never seen in either print form or on the web. She is under qualified and seems to have made it this far by rubbing the right egos in the editorial department and by smoking weed with them. I’m all for giving your friends a chance to advance in the industry, but when it involves having to fire someone who is both qualified and talented in order to accommodate your friend is borderline illegal. Perhaps I should place “enjoys smoking weed in the back of the building” on my resume when I try to apply for a job at wizard. I can be the next managing editor. Cheers.
