A friend of mine just returned from Spain, where he took this photo in one of the cathedrals.

His assessment of the trip: “They take a lot of liberties with the whole death of Jesus thing there. I don’t remember any stories about Jesus getting his head cut off.”

I’ve been told since that this is actually an interpretation of John the Baptist, who did get his head cut off and served on a platter, but Luke’s caption for the photo still makes me laugh.
