On Saturday night, Jessica and I drove out to Pine Bush, NY, to witness the shenanigans that were bound to occur at my old college buddy Sean’s annual Bonfire & BBQ. One of my other fraternity buddies, Nick, had flown in from Miami for the weekend, and I hadn’t seen him since last year’s Vegas vacation. It was a good time, with far fewer drunken hijinks than I expected, which was a good thing - although I can’t vouch for what occurred after we left.
Jessica and I made our exit after the last of the explosives were detonated in the field next to his house and people had stopped challenging each other to jump over the massive, see-it-from-orbit bonfire, but just before we heard someone scream that it was “time for keg-stands.” I’m pretty sure it was the right decision.
Oh, and I played croquet for the first time in my life. It’s not really my sort of game.
