lifestyles of the booked and invited

This weekend was a busy one, with two weddings in 24 hours spread out over several counties. It was an adventure, and I’m still playing catch-up.

First off, note to self: Don’t rely on other people at the wedding to know how to use a camera with the flash turned off. I rarely use a flash when I’m taking photographs, but I always forget to let people know before I hand them the camera that there’s more to it than just point-and-click when there’s no flash involved. Unfortunately, when I got around to looking at the camera’s memory card and the pictures on it, there just weren’t very many decent photos to be found. (Be sure to check out the Mets cake, though - the bride did a phenomenal job.)

On that note, Morgan (who has a much better camera than my own) has posted a nice album from Saturday’s wedding. In fact, I’m stealing one of the photos he took to put into circulation as a profile photo.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Jessica and I went 50-50 on scripture bets. The first wedding didn’t use either of the two readings we anticipated, while the second wedding used both of them. As you might have noticed in the image above, I also managed to wear a different color shirt for Saturday’s wedding, which might not sound like a big deal without reading this post.

All things considered, there was a sizable population of people at each wedding who I hadn’t seen in quite a while but enjoyed seeing again (as opposed to the people I hadn’t seen in a long time and liked it that way), so the mad rush was certainly worth the chaos. Here’s hoping that trend continues, because Jessica and I realized en route to Sunday’s wedding that between weddings, birthdays, conventions and other events, we have something scheduled every weekend from now until August.

Good times, good times… *sigh*
