question: 4 non blondes cover?

Why haven’t I ever heard a cover of 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up? (What’s Going On)” . . . I feel like someone must have covered it at some point, but it’s one of very few radio-big songs I’ve never heard covered.

    could swear I heard a cover of it in a bar recently. an awful awful blocked it from my mind version. Possibly dance-ified.

    really? who could cover that song? she has such a distinctive sound. not sure i would want to hear of cover of that.

    Yeah, I definitely agree, Gabe. In fact, I bet that’s the main reason we haven’t heard it covered yet.

    I’m just amazed that someone hasn’t tried to cover it, though - it was such a catchy, recognizable tune that would seem appealing as a potential “put my own spin on it” cover. People already know the words, it has a great sing-along chorus, and it doesn’t seem like much of a stretch on the instrumental side (though I could be mistaken).

    I think I’m going to start offering that one up when bands ask for requests.
