The insanity of Comic-Con International lurches ever closer, and despite the dread that starts to creep over me every year around this time, I’m actually looking forward to this year’s show. Jessica will be coming along this year, so she’ll be experiencing her first “Nerd Prom” (or any prom for that matter – she went to an all-girls high school). This will also be my first Comic-Con with the ComicMix crew, so my attack plan (as far as coverage goes) is a bit different than it has been the last few times I’ve attended.
Just in case you’re in town and meandering around the show, here’s where you’ll be able to find me:
ComicMix will be sharing a table with Insight Studios at Booth #2308. A “Meet & Greet” schedule has been posted with some time set aside for people to show up and throw things at yours truly, but I don’t think I’ll actually be around at the time posted since that’s when the good folks at Dumbrella will be talking the talk about webcomics – and I plan to be in the audience. I should be around the ComicMix booth for much of the show, though, so feel free to drop by and ask for me if you want to say hello.
As far as parties go, I plan to attend Saturday’s PopCandy Meetup, but I plan to play it pretty loose the rest of the show and hop from place to place until we find the best drinks and/or company with which to drink ‘em.
We’re planning some pretty comprehensive coverage of the show, with daily podcasts and video supplementing photo galleries and text from the floor, as well as blogging the important announcements as they pop up around the ‘Tubes. I’m using a relatively small team for a show this size, but I’m confident we’ll turn some heads with our coverage. You can follow all of the ComicMix coverage on our San Diego Comic-Con 2008 News Archive, or join in the fun on the ComicMix Twitter Feed or ComicMix Friendfeed.
Of course, I’ll also be updating my own Twitter Feed throughout the show, and re-posting my reports here on mindpollution.org whenever I can find the time to do so.
