  • LiveLeak.com – Impact Simulation – AAAAaaaaaaAAAAAAAAaaaaaahhhhhHHHHHHHH!!!! DISASTER!! All my cool stuff… DESTROYED!! (via Paul)
  • THE BEAT » Blog Archive » Andrew Pepoy’s tap dance opera – I heard about this while I was working for ComicMix, and now that I'm spending more time in the Manhattan area, I'm feeling the urge to check it out. Andrew Pepoy is a supremely decent guy and an exceptional creator, so I'm intrigued by his "superhero tap dance opera," to say the very least. Heidi has all of the details about the show (and necessary links) in this post. Anyone else planning to see a show?
  • Third-Year Tales – Was I Actually That Unhappy With D&D? – Okay, confession time: I've never participated in a single Dungeons & Dragons campaign (or a campaign in any other standard RPG system). I have no idea how I managed to avoid D&D, as it's always been big in many of the circles I've drifted in and out of over the years. It wasn't a conscious decision on my part to avoid it, either. It was just a "missed connection" of sorts. To that end, I thought this analysis of evolved D&D memory by Bruce Baugh was extremely interesting. (via Sean)
  • YouTube – Security guards abuse their "power" in front of a full stadi
  • Twitter Blog: The Palin Peak – "Governor Palin's speech at the Republican National Convention last night corresponded with a dramatic increase of tweets per second. This graph represents hourly update activity on Twitter over two days this week."
  • Reunited: Nova & Darkhawk – Marvel.com News – GEEK-OUT ALERT! I'm a big fan of Darkhawk, and refuse to sell my run of the series. There, I've admitted it.
  • IGN: Predicting the End of Marvel and DC '08 Events – I'm not sure what to think about a feature that predicts the outcome of events in comics for which publishers have probably made the outlet aware of well ahead of time anyways. But have at it, folks.
  • Doctor Who: Melting Dalek Costs Thousands Of Dollars – "The somewhat ridiculous-looking toy, which was created during the first round of Doctor Who mania in the mid-60s, originally sold for ten shillings, back in the days before the British monetary system had discovered the power of the number 100. But this weekend, news broke that one of the few remaining ones had sold online for around $3000. (Despite being "[p]ossibly the ugliest Dalek toy of all," according to the Skaro Toy Museum.)"
  • Topless Robot – The 10 People Who Have Stayed Dead in Superhero Comics – "Doctor Light was never really a good character: a disposable gimmick villain that got punched by the Justice League, a sad joke who failed to fight the Titans, the briefly interesting milquetoast of the Suicide Squad, an incoherent '90s period where he lived in Green Lanter’s power battery or some shit… and then Identity Crisis. Do you know what Identity Crisis did to make sense out of this guy’s wildly inconsistent characterizations?

It made him a serial rapist."
