December 19th, 2008 by Rick · 2 Comments ·

Every year, when the first flakes of snow appear outside my window and the smell of pine begins to offer up a much-appreciated counterpoint to the everyday scents of city streets and crowded office buildings, and multicolored lights begin to find their way to lampposts and door frames everywhere I turn, I can’t help but smile and think, well… the holiday season is really weird.

Yes, the holiday season is definitely weird.

Why is it weird? well, check back here every day from now through December 25 for a daily example of why the holiday season seems to bring out the weirdness in people — and why it’s probably best that this sort of weirdness only happens once a year.

Exhibit #1 of Holiday Weirdness: “The Gingerdead Man”

Yup, that’s Gary Busey. Because nothing says “Holiday Season” like Gary freakin’ Busey. Oh, and just in case you think that film was a fluke, be sure to check out the sequel it spawned: “Gingerdead Man 2: The Passion of the Crust.”

Come back tomorrow for more “7 Days of Holiday Weirdness” — it’s what all the cool kids are doing.
