7 Days of Holiday Weirdness: Christmas Songs

December 24th, 2008 by RM · 1 Comment ·

From “The Gingerdead Man” to “Evil Dead” Christmas comics, it’s been far too easy to find five days of holiday weirdness. Now, for Day Six, I bring you the gift of song (or something resembling song):

Twisted Sister: Oh Come All Ye Faithful

But wait… there’s more!

Billy Idol: Jingle Bell Rock

Run-D.M.C.: Christmas In Hollis

The Ramones: Merry Christmas Baby

Max Headroom: Merry Christmas Santa Claus

Rupaul: Little Drummer Boy

I have to give a special shout-out to YouTube channel ClassicXmas for quite a few of these videos, and “Venture Bros.” fans should also be sure to check out Quick Stop Entertainment’s annual “Holiday Havoc” gift to fans. This year, they have The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend singing “Fairytale of New York.” It’s… magical.

If you missed any of this 7-day series here on my little digital soapbox, click here for the 7 Days of Holiday Weirdness archive.

I get yelled at this year when asked what my favorite Christmas song was. My initial response was “I hate Christmas music!”, but when pressed I confessed that Christmas in Hollis was my favorite… then I was a chastised for being a “smart-ass!”
