It’s been an eventful day, and since I’m a little busy at the moment putting things in order, here’s the email I just sent out to everyone in my professional contact list:
Hey everyone,
First off, apologies for the mass email. I just want to let all of you know that today will be my last day as the editor of MTV Splash Page. I’d like to thank all of you for your cooperation and help in making Splash Page one of the most successful blogs in the MTV News network.
For those of you who have coverage planned in the near future or assignments in the works, someone from MTV will be in touch regarding how to proceed.
I’ll also be in touch with some of you in the near future regarding my own plans, as I’m looking forward to working with you more – and more often – in upcoming ventures. Until then, please feel free to contact me via my personal phone, email account, Twitter, Facebook, or my website(s).
I’ve CCed my personal email on this message and I’ve included all of my contact info below, so please update your records accordingly.
Again, I can’t thank you enough for being a part of Splash Page’s success the last three years. The site’s amazing success is a testament to the talent, cooperation, and dedication of its contributors, as well as the great publicists, comic creators, filmmakers, fellow blog editors, and studios who brought their imaginations to the table every day.
Thanks again – and keep in touch!
- Rick Marshall
More details to come, once I figure out how to get all of these comics back to my apartment! ;)

Looking forward to your next great project Rick!
Aw, man, that’s a bummer, but I can only hope bigger and better things await, sir.
[...] * Best of luck to my old Wizard coworker Rick Marshall as he departs MTV’s Splash Page blog. [...]
Their loss. Onward & upward!
You were the reason I read the MTV Splash Page. You have been my most regular interaction with the MTV Brand over the last 3 years. Be well, good luck and rock on.
Rick …shoot me an email
Best of luck, dude!
