“Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock” trailer arrives (and there was much rejoicing).

January 23rd, 2012 by Rick · No Comments ·

Last week I had a minor freak-out regarding the first image from Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock, the upcoming game for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Now there’s a new trailer and, well… I’ve watched it approximately 42 times already.

I wrote up an article about it for IFC that offers some analysis, including my guess at which alien species was cut at the last minute from the game.

Here’s the trailer:

For what it’s worth, I love what I’ve seen of the game so far. The “Doctor Who” franchise has had a spotty history in the gaming world, and though I really like the recent free-to-play MMO Doctor Who: Worlds In Time, it will be nice to see a more older-skewing game. River Song looks great in it, and as I mentioned to someone earlier today, I like that they used the now-iconic “Basically… run” line that Matt Smith first uttered back in his debut as The Doctor.

If you don’t know the line, than you need only watch this scene to understand why it is such a memorable piece of dialogue:

Yeah, that’s one heck of a Doctor right there, folks.

Can’t wait for March!
