As is often the case when there’s a delay in updates here, I’ve been stuck in overdrive lately, with lots of opportunities suddenly dropping out of the sky like, well… frogs.
Why frogs? Because when those suckers start raining down (as they occasionally do), I can only assume that it’s both weird and a little awesome. And that’s a pretty good way to describe the last few weeks around here.
I teased it a few times already, but just in case you missed the news or want to know the details (and let’s face it, I totally want to share ‘em), here’s the deal: I’ve signed on as a consultant for Spike TV’s “All Access Comic-Con,” a semi-live show airing Friday, July 13, from San Diego.
So… yeah. That’s happening.
“Consultant” can mean a lot of things, but in this case it means I’m helping out the Spike crew with some of the segments you’ll see on the July 13 show. In fact, there are one or two particular segments that I’m very excited to be working on, and though I can’t share any details about them yet, I think you’ll know which ones I’m talking about when the show airs.
Oh, and it also means I’ll be out in San Diego again this year for the madness that is Comic-Con International.
But that’s not all…
I first connected with Spike TV a week ago when I was asked to be a guest on the regular edition of “All Access Weekly,” as part of a Comic-Con preview episode. They taped the episode recently (as you might have noticed from some those updates on Twitter and Facebook), and I think it went really well. Without giving too much away, my segment involved some serious nerding-out with the show’s host, Katie Linendoll, over what to expect at this year’s Comic-Con.
The shows airs Thursdays at midnight on Spike TV, and as soon as I find out whether it’s airing this week (as in tomorrow) or next week (July 5), you can bet I’ll be shouting it from the rooftops (both real and digital).
Stay tuned!
UPDATE: My “All Access Weekly” episode will air Thursday, July 5, at midnight on Spike TV. Make sure to check it out!
