Last week, I participated in a fun little chat session with the crew at SuperHeroHype, one of the best sites out there for news about comic book movies and genre projects of that nature. I’ve been reading SHH for years now, and I’ve been friends with the site’s Associate Editor, Ed Douglas, since we met during my very first San Diego Comic-Con.
Ed and the SHH crew recently kicked off a series of “Hero Chat” features, which are basically podcasts without the audio element. It’s four people with some insight on a particular set of subjects who get together in a chat room and discuss the latest news, and since we’re all professional writers, it’s no surprise that (in my humble opinion) the chat reads really well.
As you can probably guess, I make sure to bring up ROM Spaceknight, “Doctor Who,” and Man-Thing during the chat, and even drop a reference to superhero porn. Yes, I always keep it classy on the Internet, folks.
I’ve posted an excerpt as a screencap from the article in order to show the fun avatars we each used. Ed is Galactus, Spencer Perry of SHH is the B.P.R.D. logo, Silas Lesnick of SHH’s West Coast team is Superman, and I’m, well… the image of me as drawn by Matthew Dow Smith in an issue of the Doctor Who comic. (Of course.)
Here it is:
